A Merton Gershun corner table for American of Martinsville's Accord line, its stepped two-tier silhouette finished in a light blonde tone with a durable Formica laminate top over tapered birch and maple legs and brass ball feet. Gershun designed more than a dozen furniture lines for the Martinsville, Virginia manufacturer — founded in 1906 — and Accord is counted among the postwar collections that helped move American furniture toward cleaner, more functional lines. Built to tuck into the corner where a sofa and loveseat meet, with the raised tier sized for a lamp and the lower tier left clear for drinks, it's an authenticated vintage find with real presence for a mid-century-styled living room.
