An exquisite late-19th-century French dressing-table vanity mirror, finely crafted in gilt bronze and brass with elaborate polychrome champlevé enamel decoration, circa 1880. The shaped frame is richly ornamented with scrolling arabesques, stylized flowers, rosettes, foliage, and geometric diaper patterns. Recessed cells within the metalwork are hand-filled with brilliant enamels in cobalt blue, turquoise, ruby red, rose, green, and ivory, creating jewel-like contrast against the warm gilded surface. Its animated Rococo-inspired silhouette rises to an asymmetrical foliate crest and terminates in gracefully scrolled feet. The central shaped mirror plate features a broad beveled edge, beautifully reflecting light while emphasizing the frame’s sculptural contours. A brass easel support allows the mirror to stand securely upon a dressing table, vanity, console, or cabinet.
