Burned trees, gray skies, darkened water, and plants beginning to emerge again coexist within the same landscape. Traces of destruction remain alongside a natural world that continues to regenerate.I approach these landscapes not simply as records of an event, but as one state within nature’s continuous process of change. Even within landscapes marked by loss, nature takes on new forms and reveals its beauty. Through the beauty of nature that emerges between destruction and regeneration, Into the Gray asks how we look at the natural world and how we position ourselves in relation to its constant transformation.
