An exquisite and highly atmospheric pair of small-scale English candlestick table lamps, in the Georgian Revival taste, circa 1940s. Each lamp is a miniature sculpture in brass. The form is classically composed: a low, compressed bun base raised on three exquisite lion paw feet, a waisted stem supporting a wide drip pan, and a baluster socket topped with a faux wax candle sleeve with drips. The silhouette is that of a 19th-century chamber candlestick converted to electricity.
