A rare pair of vintage industrial foundry crucibles with extraordinary naturally developed patina, now repurposed as sculptural planters and decorative vessels. Originally made for high-temperature industrial use, each crucible has developed a completely unique surface through years of exposure to heat and working conditions. Layers of charcoal, gray, earthy brown, white mineral deposits, and subtle green-blue coloration give the pair an almost archaeological presence. Their heavily textured exteriors, irregular openings, firing marks, and beautifully imperfect rims are all part of their original industrial character rather than applied decorative finishes. Today, the pair works beautifully as oversized planters, architectural garden objects, or freestanding sculptural vessels. They are especially striking with olive trees, agave, succulents, or other sculptural greenery, but are equally compelling displayed empty.
