19th-century Scandinavian painted canopy bedstead, dated 1824, featuring richly decorated recessed panels across the headboard, canopy, and footboard. The footboard incorporates cabinet doors, while turned posts and hand-painted architectural and floral motifs extend throughout the structure, reflecting the remarkable craftsmanship and character of this historic piece. The bedstead comes with a custom down-wrapped foam cushion upholstered in Pierce & Ward clay linen, as well as a custom wood mattress support.
