Cees Braakman / Pastoe / Netherlands Dutch Mid-century, model "TU30" minimalist, metal framed dining table with formica top, designed by Cees Braakman for Pastoe in the 1960. This truly iconic piece of Dutch post-war design that embodies the clean lines and functional elegance typical of Braakman's work. Braakman was born in Utrecht in 1917. At the age of 17, he began working for Pastoe, a furniture manufacturer based in Utrecht. His father, D.L. Braakman (1885-1966), was the chief designer and manager at Pastoe at that time. In 1948, after World War II (during which the factory was closed), Braakman took on the role of designer and manager at Pastoe and held this position until 1978. This table is in original condition with some age-appropriate signs of wear and usage. This table has no leaf, another is available and listed separately.
