Barbara Kyte Wigren (American 1932-2021) American Abstract Overall Size: 25 1/4 x 29 1/4 in. Sight Size: 19 x 23 in.2 Rare early work by the artist. Barbara Wigren studied art at the University of California, Berkeley graduating in 1954 in the early years of the California Abstract Movement. She began exhibiting and became an "Outstanding Achievement Member" of the California Watercolor Association. She was a member of the San Francisco Women Artists, a prominent association formed in 1887 to counter the all male artists BohemianClub. She was also a member of the Oakland Art Association and President of the East Bay Watercolor Association.
