A wood block print that is a re-print from a series of 25 prints titled The Craftsmen's Life, which shows various craftsmen performing their trades. This piece in the series shows lacquerware makers applying lacquer to a variety of objects. The original version of this print was likely created sometime during the 1600s. [Artist Biography] - Kano Yoshinobu (1552-1640) A painter of the Kano school who was active from the Momoyama to early Edo periods. He was commonly known as Kyuzaemon and his pen name was Shoan.
