Stylish set of four Josef Hoffmann “Fledermaus” style chairs, Austria, 20th century. The design is inspired by Hoffmann’s iconic seating created for the Cabaret Fledermaus in Vienna, with a curved horseshoe-form back, horizontal rail detail, black bentwood-style frame, and red upholstered seats. The chairs have a strong Viennese Secession / Austrian modernist look, with clean geometry, rounded forms, and decorative ball accents. The black frames contrast beautifully with the red patterned upholstery, giving the set a bold graphic presence. These would work well as dining chairs, game chairs, café chairs, breakfast room seating, or accent chairs in a modernist, Art Deco, or eclectic interior.
