A distinctive vintage Moroccan wall-light shade handcrafted in Marrakech circa 1980, this sculptural piece combines painted hide parchment with an expressive hand-formed iron framework. Its warm golden-yellow field, ivory side panels, coral-pink borders and red upper band distinguish this particular example from the other Moroccan hide shades in the collection. The curved parchment body is stretched and visibly stitched around an iron structure, preserving the handmade character of traditional North African decorative lighting. A finely drawn diamond-shaped Berber geometric medallion forms the central focal point. Its dark brown and black linear decoration contrasts beautifully with the softly aged yellow hide. Above the parchment, the exposed iron frame rises into an arched crest with two inward-facing scrolls. The iron continues below the pointed shade to create a delicate heart-shaped finial. Variations in the stitching, painted lines, surface coloration and iron construction demonstrate that this Moroccan wall shade was individually made rather than mechanically produced. The parchment retains natural tonal changes, visible brushwork, small marks and surface irregularities associated with age and artisanal construction. The dark iron has developed an attractive patina that complements the warm colors and provides architectural definition. Designed to fit over an existing wall-light source, the hide parchment filters illumination and creates soft, atmospheric lighting. When installed over a compatible electrical fitting, its golden-yellow center and ivory panels should produce a particularly warm glow, while the pink and red borders remain visually prominent. It would make an inviting accent in an entryway, hallway, bedroom, dining room, powder room, home theater or intimate seating area. Please note that this offering is for the decorative Moroccan wall-light shade only. It does not include wiring, a socket, bulb, switch, wall plate or other electrical components. The shade is designed to sit over an appropriate existing wall-light fitting or to be adapted for its intended location by a qualified professional. Installation by a licensed electrician is recommended. It can also be displayed without illumination as a sculptural work of African tribal wall art. Measuring approximately 16 inches high, 10 inches wide and 7 inches deep, the shade has enough projection to create architectural dimension and an appealing play of light against the wall. Its relatively narrow proportions make it suitable for bedside placement, a stairway, a hallway or a smaller architectural wall section where a large conventional sconce might feel overpowering. Additional related Moroccan hide wall shades may be available separately. Each shade was individually hand-painted, and the interior motifs, palette, stitching, parchment texture and ironwork vary from one example to another. They coordinate as a collection but are not exact matches. The listing is for one shade. Please inquire about availability if several complementary examples are desired for a hallway, staircase or larger installation. This unusual vintage Marrakech wall shade is particularly well suited to Moorish, Moroccan, Folk Art, African tribal, Bohemian, Mediterranean and Spanish Colonial interiors. Its honest
