Beautiful pair of Persian engraved Ghalam-zani Islamic brass vases on Middle Eastern Syrian Moorish style wooden wall decorative brackets. The small Moorish brass vases are finely hand-chased with elaborate designs and presented on hand crafted wooden Arabian brackets inlaid with shell and Syrian fretwork decor. Engraving (Ghalam-zani) is a term, for artistic metalworking, it is one of the original Persian handicraft, the art of engraving and embossing, hammering, repousse and chasing elaborate designs, patterns and shapes on metals such as copper, silver, gold, and brass to form minute detailed reliefs or small engraved patterns.
