An elegant vintage Moroccan Moorish hanging lantern, handcrafted in Marrakech with softly translucent milky glass panels and exceptionally detailed pierced metalwork. Measuring 27 inches high by 12 inches in diameter, the lantern has a beautifully elongated architectural silhouette inspired by traditional Moroccan and Hispano-Moresque lighting. The fixture is constructed in a series of sculptural, faceted sections. Its upper crown is richly pierced with repeating geometric motifs and openwork decoration, while the central body features large panels of pale milk glass framed by slender metal ribs. Layered architectural bands surround the middle and lower sections, culminating in an elaborate pierced base and delicate finial. Particularly beautiful is the contrast between the aged metal framework and the softly opaque glass. When illuminated, the milk glass diffuses the single light source into a warm, atmospheric glow rather than exposing the bulb directly. The pierced sections allow additional points of light to escape through the intricate openwork, emphasizing the lantern's geometric decoration and creating subtle patterns of light and shadow. The restrained combination of warm patinated metal and pale glass gives this lantern a sophisticated character that works well beyond a traditional Moroccan setting.
