Handcrafted Moroccan Moorish metal tole wall sconce shade, made in Morocco in the Hispano-Moresque tradition. The tall, slender half-cylinder form is entirely worked in pierced metal, creating an architectural wall accent with a strong graphic presence. The surface is decorated with repeating openwork floral rosettes, each composed of radiating petal-shaped cutouts surrounding a raised central boss. Smaller diamond, triangular and geometric piercings punctuate the design, while the upper and lower edges terminate in a distinctive stepped, crenellated border. The combination gives the piece a particularly attractive Moorish character reminiscent of traditional pierced screens and architectural metalwork found throughout Morocco and Andalusia. The metal retains a dark rust-brown patinated finish, with subtle variations in tone characteristic of handcrafted Moroccan metalwork. Rather than appearing overly polished or new, the patina gives the shade warmth and visual depth. Designed to sit against the wall over an existing light source, the pierced decoration allows illumination to filter through the floral and geometric openings, creating decorative patterns of light and shadow. Its narrow proportions—16.25 inches high × 6.5 inches wide × 4.5 inches deep—make it especially useful for hallways, staircases, entryways, alcoves or as a rhythmic series of sconces along a long wall. This piece is offered as a sconce shade only and is not wired for electricity. It can be installed over a suitable existing electrical wall-light fitting or used purely as a decorative piece of Moroccan architectural metalwork. Suitable for indoor or protected outdoor use.
