PENITENCIA reimagines the ornate Paschal candle sticks found in rural Mexican chapels as an oversized, sculptural object. Balancing tectonic stability with organic freedom, its form oscillates between structure and release. Crafted from ceramic, hand-bound leather, and horsehair, the piece situates traditional devotional craft within a contemporary aesthetic language. Both functional and symbolic, PENITENCIA is conceived as an object of wild contemplation, where ritual and design come together.
