About

Designed by the celebrated Danish designer Arne Vodder for Sibast Møbler, this exceptional Model 227 dining table exemplifies the refined craftsmanship and functional ingenuity that established Danish modern furniture as a global benchmark in the 1950s. Crafted in Denmark from beautifully grained teak, the table has been professionally refinished to highlight the wood's warmth and character while preserving the clean, organic lines that define Vodder's timeless aesthetic. The table's ingenious expansion system offers remarkable versatility. Two removable curved drop leaves allow the table to transform effortlessly from a compact everyday dining table into a generous entertaining surface. It can be configured with a single curved leaf extended for smaller gatherings, both curved leaves open to extend to 70 inches, or fully expanded with all four leaves to an impressive 110 inches, comfortably accommodating larger dinners without compromising its elegant proportions. Tapered solid teak legs reinforce the table's light visual presence while providing exceptional stability. Arne Vodder was renowned for creating furniture that balanced sculptural beauty with practical living. His collaborations with Sibast Mobler produced some of the most sought-after Danish designs of the postwar era, admired for their meticulous joinery, graceful proportions, and innovative functionality. Model 227 perfectly reflects this philosophy, offering a rare combination of engineering and elegance. Both highly collectible and exceptionally practical, this table remains a standout example of Scandinavian design, crafted to adapt effortlessly to modern living while retaining the enduring appeal that has made Arne Vodder's work increasingly coveted worldwide.
