Set of Majolika Karlsruhe ceramics with melted glass tops- Germany 1960's. These rare pieces are standout examples of postwar West Germany studio pottery. The larger lidded container features a textured cobalt blue lid with gold and orange accents, contrasted by its earthy-toned base. The smaller spoon-like dish has a glossy black exterior with vivid red and orange glazing. Crafted by Majolika Karlsruhe, one of Germany's most renowned ceramic studios, founded in 1901 under Grand Duke Friedrich of Baden. The studio become known for its art ceramics and collaborations with leading designers during the mid-20th century when experimental glazes and glass fusions were all the rage.
