A beautifully sculptural Dutch Art Deco side table in richly figured rosewood veneer, featuring a circular top above a dramatic base of four curved arch-form supports that meet at a central X-form plinth foot. The arches create a series of open lancet-like voids between them, giving the base a gothic-inflected yet thoroughly modernist quality that is very characteristic of Dutch Art Deco design of the 1920s and 1930s. The rosewood veneer is deeply figured with a warm reddish-brown tone and fine natural grain throughout. A table of genuine sculptural ambition and presence.
