A remarkable matched pair of Spanish Baroque cabinets, each built from richly grained pine with an extraordinary depth of color that only comes from centuries of age and use. The doors are deeply carved with geometric raised panel moldings in a grid pattern that is quintessentially Iberian, bold and architectural without being overwrought. Original hand forged iron strap hinges and hardware run the full width of each cabinet, adding a dark, graphic punctuation to the warm reddish-brown wood. The interiors are open with a single shelf, making them as practical as they are beautiful. These work beautifully flanking a fireplace, as bedside cabinets, or as nightstands with serious presence. Sold as a pair.
