An early California-made bronze patio lounge chair by Walter Lamb antecedent, Robert Lewis. The bronze tubing in this example is very slender, sculpted into a chair with an angled backrest, comparatively low-set arms, and the C-shaped supports that often distinguish Lewis’s designs. The frame terminates at two decorative finials at either side of the backrest resembling a pinecone. Woven sail cord forms the seat. All corded patio furniture at DEN has been restored with the utmost attention to the designer’s original specifications. We rope all seating with a braided cotton sail cord that closely approximates what would have been offered when the piece was originally retailed. While the cord will retain its shape and strength in most US climate zones, please expect to see some changes in color and texture over time due to weathering and natural accumulation of particulate matter.
