Memphis Style / Netherlands This Dutch, 1980's “Memphis” style chair is comprised of vividly colored geometric forms and grounding, black frame that strikes a playful balance in its colors and shapes. Memphis Design is sometimes referred to as the result of a wild night between the Bauhaus design movement and Fisher Price. This is not entirely unjustified as many of the objects resemble enlarged toys. Large geometric shapes and primary colors are frequently used. It's enormous influence is clearly felt in this chair that is in original condition with some visible wear that is consistent with its age.
