About Ultra Local LA

Ultra Local LA celebrates the independent dealers, suppliers, makers, and designers who make Los Angeles an exceptional place to discover vintage design.

Furniture, lighting, art, and objects are brought together from shops, studios, websites, and social accounts—then linked directly to their sources. The idea is to help designers and the public see more of what already exists across Los Angeles, while giving proper attention to the people who find, restore, preserve, import, and make it.

Ultra Local LA does not sell products, process payments, take commissions, negotiate sales, or stand between buyers and sellers. Placement cannot be bought, and no seller can pay to be included or ranked more prominently.

The focus is vintage. Newly manufactured products, reproductions, reissues, drop-shipped goods, and mass-produced objects presented as discovery do not belong in the catalog. Age and origin are not always obvious, so some mistakes will happen. The catalog will continue to be reviewed and improved as better information becomes available.

Ultra Local LA is starting simply: finding good work, following the people responsible for it, and making both easier to discover. The aim is to contribute something useful to Los Angeles design culture—not extract value from it.

The project is still exploring how to support itself financially. Any future commercial relationships will be clearly disclosed. The intention is to remain an open and equitable resource rather than another transaction marketplace.

How the catalog works

Listings come from public dealer sources and are refreshed on a governed schedule. Ultra Local keeps source attribution, checks whether a piece is still publicly available, and withholds items when identity, vintage eligibility, price, availability, or image evidence is not reliable enough for public presentation.

Search and Discover organize the same eligible public catalog. Discover is an editorial view of current inventory, not a paid placement program. Product facts can change at the source, so every product page links back to the independent dealer for the current listing and transaction details.

Freshness and corrections

The site publishes the newest trustworthy catalog evidence after a completed quality review. A listing may disappear when it is sold, removed, or no longer verifiable. Corrections are made from source evidence; Ultra Local does not invent missing prices, availability, makers, dates, or condition claims.
